Family and friends are invited to enjoy this day of fun and music, as students showcase their newly-developed rhythmic skills. Click here to book this clinic or for more information: We begin with a general overview of World Music influenced by a variety of global regions, including Samba, Afro-Cuban, rooscetti Olodum.

Students are assigned to an ensemble group based on their level of experience. A variety of loop concepts are discussed and the accompanying CD is used for listening analysis.

Custom workshops are fun, educational and therapeutic sessions that will teach participants how to play and interact rhythmically on a variety of hand drums and hand percussion instruments. This clinic is geared towards schools, universities, music stores, music camps and corporate events.

Learn to groove on drumset, hand drums, and hand percussion instruments. This includes a chanting choir and rhythmic vocal improvisation. This workshop is geared towards corporate events.

This clinic is geared towards schools, universities, music stores and music camps. All instruments are provided on site.

Audience participation voluntary on shakers and hand drums provided by WBR consistently proves to be a favorite part of the show. Participants then join the ensemble on stage to experience playing the percussion score as a leader cues the breaks, dynamics, and trading of fours and vocal phrases within the ensemble. Campers come and play in the spirit of the groove!

Real time drumset loops, midi sequenced and sampled drum loops, drumset with percussion loops, the drumset as an overdub instrument, and a combination of all four examples in one loop. Development of technique, time, time feel, phrasing and song form in odd and common time signatures utilizing the Rhythmic Guide and Five Steps to Musicality concepts. First is The Rhythmic Guide, a breakdown of rhythms that can be applied to any given subdivision in any meter.

The students are introduced to ways of creating their own loops in their home studios, using the latest technology available today Pro Tools, etc. Audience members then repeat these rhythms in a call-and-answer pattern, alternating with Ed and Maria. The Museum of Making Music.

In this way, the composition takes on a life of its own, and expands with the added presence of an audience. This interactive workshop is designed for music majors at the university level or those who have a working facility with sight reading. WBR is a unique celebration of rhythm, energy, and the joy of ensemble music. Non-percussion musicians play their roscetfi instrument which is folded in along the way or a percussion part. This interactive concert is geared towards schools, universities, music camps and corporate events.

Instruments include drumset, djembe, doumbek, shaker, surdo, d-jun-d-jun, conga, batas, clay tones, mambo bell, shekere, klong yaw, tumbadora.
